Summer is here, with rising temperatures and frequent rainfall. While doing a good job of heatstroke prevention and cooling, we also remind everyone to provide a suitable environment for the laser to survive the continuous rainy season and scorching sun.
When the laser cooling water temperature is set lower than the dew point temperature, condensation is likely to occur. Condensation can cause damage to electrical and optical components of the laser, or even cause component failure. In order to avoid condensation, the environmental conditions to which the laser is exposed must be within certain limits.
Environmental requirements:
1. Laser working environment temperature: 10°C – 40°C;
2. Laser working environment humidity: 10% - 80%;
3. Avoid the condensation environment when the laser is working. The specific control standards are as follows:
Remarks: The above picture is the environmental dew point query table. The temperature at the intersection of the temperature and humidity parameters is the "dew point temperature" for this environment. Example: At the intersection point in the above figure, when the laser working environment temperature is 35°C and the relative humidity is 60%, the laser water cooler temperature is lower than or equal to 26.2°C and condensation will form inside the machine.
How to prevent laser condensation:
1. The ambient temperature of the independent space where the laser is placed is lower than 35°C;
2. The humidity of the independent space where the laser is placed is lower than 60%;
3. It is recommended that the equipment cabinet adopt a sealed design, and install an industrial air conditioner to keep the inside of the cabinet in a constant temperature and humidity state, which can effectively avoid condensation of the laser;
4. If conditions permit, high-power lasers should build an air-conditioned room separately, and the lasers can effectively avoid condensation in this environment;
5. When the ambient temperature and humidity are too high, there will be a dehumidification process for about 30 minutes when the laser is turned on. This is normal, and the laser can be restarted after the dew condensation alarm is released;
5. The cooling water temperature requirements of the QBH interface of the laser are relatively loose. The chiller with dual temperature and dual control can properly increase the set water temperature to make it higher than the dew point, but the set water temperature must not be higher than 30°C;
6. When the equipment is out of service, please turn off the laser and water cooler at the same time.
What should I do if condensation occurs on the laser?
1. If the laser is found to have condensation, stop it immediately;
2. Wipe off the condensed water on the laser shell, and start the laser after the dew condensation is completely eliminated;
3. To reduce the temperature and humidity of the environment, within the required area;
Laser protection in summer rainy days:
There are many thunderstorms in summer. In order to avoid damage to the laser in rainy days, please disconnect the main power supply of the laser, and raise the electric control cabinet, laser, and water chiller to prevent huge maintenance costs caused by water soaking. For low-lying workshops, it is necessary to arrange personnel to be on duty to prevent floods and waterlogging and minimize property losses. If the equipment is wading in water, do not blindly power on the test, if you need help, please contact GXLASER:
